- you don't need a business model to succeed online...
you don't need a business model to succeed online...
(third week in Thailand)
What if I told you…
That as beginner online entrepreneur, you don't need:
A business model
A niche
Or even an irresistible offer
These things are important, but there's a better priority.
To start, we need something different.
In fact, I want to show you how you already have what you need.
And how what you already have is better that any strategy.
To explain this point, I will talk about:
Why most of us get stuck and fail at the beginning
The one trait that make people win
The framework that you and me can use today to start getting the results we want.
This won't be just theory, but based on my personal experience.
I hope this letter helps.
Why most people fail online
You see, many of us fail because we force things.
We force things in attempt to obtain something that's out of our current level in life.
Wether that'd be:
A solid online business
An engaging Personal Brand
Getting to $10k in 3-6 months
We look for the strategies, the tactics, the tricks…
Our focus on these things makes us rush the process and even jump from one thing to the other.
But this quickly get us into chasing.
And chasing is what gets us stuck.
When I started, I was chasing.
I was sending tons of messages and videos trying to get clients for my marketing agency.
That didn't work.
Then my brother and I tried to grow a faceless YouTube channel.
But we were forcing our creativity to try to get as many views as possible.
Didn't work either.
I then started working for an agency located in Canada.
But same thing here…
Always trying hard, always chasing results.
The trait that makes people win
There was a trait I noticed in successful people though:
They were all creating.
Not to get something from their content, but to serve others.
You see, not everyone who is creating something online is winning…
There are creators who can't attract what they want.
I was one of those.
I started creating content to get clients for my agency.
But I ended up attracting people interested in my video editing skills.
Why?
Because my message had no proof.
Yet people noticed my editing skills.
Guess which one wins?
The thing you don't force and have experience with!
I made my first money with the editing service, not the agency one.
Later on, I started posting video editing tutorials on YouTube.
I wasn't trying to grow a YouTube channel.
I just wanted to create the tutorials I wish I had in the past.
And guess what happened?
My videos went viral and that allowed me to make my first $20k+ online with:
More editing clients
My first digital products
Some 1:1 calls with subscribers
Because I created without expecting in return.
You already have what's needed to succeed
The reason why you don't need a business model…
Or choose a niche…
Or even think about the perfect offer for the perfect client avatar…
…is because you already have what you need:
Your Story.
Every person has a unique story with lessons, skills, fails, wins, solutions, areas to explore…
Even though every story is unique, several people can relate with similar stories.
That means that your story - and the things you have been through - can be someone else's present moment.
Which also means that the lessons you have, can be really useful for someone else.
And if you share these lessons, a group of people can benefit from it.
I believe that - before trying to make money online with a business - people should focus on building an organic audience based on their current knowledge.
By organic audience I don't mean building an audience with quick tactics and strategies…
I mean creating authentic content that serves people.
And the best way to serve anyone is by handing the knowledge you already have from personal experience.
Authenticity allows people to naturally connect with you.
And the way you create authentic content is by talking to the person you know the most: your younger self.
What if your story isn't good enough?
"Pablo I understand…
But I'm not sure about my story.
I just want to make a business model work and earn some income online."
Here’s the thing:
To make a business model work, you'd need to force things.
Cause no one knows you or the thing you want to create:
Marketing Agency
Online Store
Faceless YouTube channel
You name it
Wouldn’t it be better to do those things - not out of necessity - but out of creativity?
With your story, you get to create your own project and understand every individual concept of the online game step-by-step:
You can leverage the things you are already interested about
You learn with intention
You reflect on your story and gain ideas
You turn those into concise content
You get feedback from a small group of people
You naturally come up with solutions to these people
My point is:
Even if you don't have many lessons, or don't like your story…
You can still talk about the things you are aware in life.
Think about this:
If you could go back in time, what would you teach to your younger self?
Not only your younger self…
But based on the books you're reading, the videos you watch, the content you consume…
What would you teach your entire family? Your past generations?
I mean, if you are not in a situation you like, that tells me that your family's beliefs are not optimized, are they?
Again, whatever your situation or age, there are so many lessons in your life that other people need.
Trying any of these business models will just add you to the big line of competition for the people seeking quick results.
However, serving the people who resonate with your story is the thing that's going to make you win in the long-term.
Say good bye to traditional approaches
Leveraging your knowledge and serving your younger self is the most fulfilling and organic frame of living.
No need for market research here: because you already know your younger self at your best.
No need for an offer, because it will come naturally to you when the right time comes - and it will be something that you can actually deliver.
No need to invest in expensive programs, teams, Ads…
You can start with simple ideas, and improve everything else over time.
In fact, you don't even need to worry about how to monetize.
It will happen naturally because the people who relate to your story will be more than happy to support whatever you create:
Content
Products
Offers
This is the exact model that the most fulfilled creators are following.
And finally, after testing things with consistency…
You can leverage any business model:
A cool faceless brand talking about your interests
A solid course that's based on the content you've tested with an audience
A coaching offer that your people is asking for
A online store with physical products that your audience is happy to buy
You can create anything you want and people will support.
But only because you took the diligent time to serve them first.
It's here where you open the opportunity of freedom based on a foundation that helps other people, makes you grow, and creates a positive impact in the world.
It's just the best frame that exists!
And you can start building upon this framework today.
As a recap
You don't need a business model.
Trying to make a business model work makes you force things.
You already have what you need:
Your Story.
Your story allows you to build an organic audience first.
When you speak to your younger self, you create connection.
This is the connection you need for people to support whatever you create.
Start small, grow big.
Thanks for reading
Congratulations, not everyone is aware of the fact that life isn't just about a degree and a job
You are aware
And you also made it to the end of this letter.
But consuming content is just the start.
As an ethical creator, I must also encourage you to create your own thing.
I have shared the best framework to start, trust me.
Working on your project in life is the key to the life you want.
You don't need to start fancy, you just need to start.
